UrgentMed is a physician-led, family-owned urgent care and occupational health practice with two clinics in Broward County — Davie and Plantation — open seven days a week. We were founded to give patients and employers the care an emergency room provides for minor problems, without the wait or the bill, and to keep everything a visit needs — X-ray, laboratory, EKG, medications, paperwork — under one roof.
What we do
- Walk-in urgent care for adults and children: illness, injury, testing and physicals, seven days a week, no appointment.
- Workers’ compensation injury care — same-day treatment with the DWC-25 completed at every visit, medications and DME on site, and care through MMI.
- Employer and occupational health — DOT physicals, drug and alcohol testing, pre-employment and fit-for-duty exams, respirator fit testing, OSHA medical surveillance and employer accounts.
- Car accident (PIP) care — seen inside Florida’s 14-day window, with the emergency-medical-condition determination made in both offices and by telemedicine.
- VA Community Care urgent care — in-network and registered at both clinics; enrolled veterans walk in with no referral.
- Physicals and clearances — school, sports, immigration (civil surgeons at both clinics), DOT, nursing-program, law-enforcement, firefighter, mariner and surgical clearance exams.
- Medical weight loss and men’s hormone health — physician-supervised programs that begin with an evaluation and laboratory testing.
Everything a visit needs, on site
Most urgent care visits stall on a test that has to happen somewhere else. Both UrgentMed clinics carry the equipment to finish the visit in one stop:
- Digital X-ray and an on-site laboratory, with most results during the visit.
- EKG, spirometry and respirator fit testing.
- TB skin and blood tests, vaccines and titers, DOT and non-DOT drug and breath-alcohol testing.
- IV fluids, joint and trigger-point injections, injectable medications — a non-opioid pain shot, an antibiotic injection, a corticosteroid for a severe allergic reaction, B12 — and shockwave therapy.
- Wound care and stitches, splinting and bracing, medications dispensed in the clinic and DME supplied at the visit for workers’ compensation and PIP patients.
- Body composition analysis for the medical weight-loss program.
How a visit works
- Walk in, or check in online to hold your place and wait at home.
- A licensed physician, physician assistant or nurse practitioner evaluates you; X-ray, lab and EKG are done during the visit when needed.
- Treatment starts the same day — medication, wound care, splinting, injections — with a written plan and the paperwork your employer, school, carrier or program requires.
- Follow-up is scheduled when a condition needs it, and records are sent to your primary care physician, specialist or employer contact on request.
Who we serve
- Patients and families in Davie, Plantation, Cooper City, Weston, Sunrise, Southwest Ranches, Pembroke Pines, Tamarac, Lauderhill and Fort Lauderdale.
- Employers, carriers and case managers across Broward County who need same-day injury care, DOT and compliance exams, testing and reporting from one local team — set up an employer account.
- Veterans using the VA urgent care benefit, students with program physicals, drivers, mariners and applicants with licensing exams.
How we hold ourselves accountable
- Care is delivered by Florida-licensed physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners; DOT exams by examiners on the FMCSA National Registry; immigration exams by USCIS-designated civil surgeons.
- We are in-network for the VA Community Care Network and accept most major insurance plans, workers’ compensation and Florida PIP; self-pay pricing is quoted before you are seen.
- Patient information is handled under HIPAA; we do not ask for medical details by e-mail or through web forms.
- Clinical content on this site is reviewed by our medical team; if something is unclear or out of date, tell us.
