Occupational Health & Employer Services in South Florida

One account, two Broward clinics, seven days a week. UrgentMed handles the occupational health side of employing people — pre-employment physicals, DOT exams, drug and alcohol testing, workplace injury care, return-to-work evaluations and occupational screenings — with on-site X-ray and lab, same-day reporting, and a local team that answers the phone.

How workplace injury care works

  1. The injury happens. Send the employee to Davie or Plantation — walk-in, seven days a week — and tell us they are coming; a standing account pre-authorizes care.
  2. Evaluation and treatment the same day. X-ray, lab and EKG on site, wound care, splinting and medications dispensed in the clinic; the DWC-25 and a work-status note are completed at the visit.
  3. Reporting. The DWC-25 and work status go to your designated contact and the carrier the same day, so the claim starts with complete paperwork.
  4. Follow-up through MMI. Restrictions are updated at each visit, return-to-work evaluation clears the employee, and adjusters and case managers get the records they ask for.

We manage recheck visits, referrals and fit-for-duty clearance to get the employee back safely.

Setting up an employer account

Tell us which services you use and who your designated contact is, and how you want results and reports delivered. Employees are then sent with a simple authorization; results and reports go to your contact automatically, and workers’ compensation visits are pre-authorized. Use the request form to start, or call either clinic.

Frequently asked questions

Do employees need an appointment?

No. Both clinics take walk-ins seven days a week for physicals, testing and injury care. Employers with an account send employees with an authorization and no call is needed.

How are results reported?

To the designated contact on your account, by the method you choose — fax or secure email — with physicals and work-status notes completed at the visit and laboratory results when they return.

Can one visit cover a physical and a drug test?

Yes. Pre-employment physicals, drug and alcohol screening and other screenings your policy requires are done in the same visit.

Do you serve employers outside Broward?

Yes. Employees are seen at the Davie and Plantation clinics; employers across South Florida use the account for physicals, testing and injury care.

Is there a cost to set up an account?

No. Services are billed per visit or per test to the account; the front desk quotes pricing for the services you use.

If you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency — chest pain, difficulty breathing, severe bleeding, stroke symptoms — call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
