Vitamin B12 injections are given at UrgentMed when testing shows a deficiency, or when a provider finds another clinical reason for them — after an evaluation at the Davie or Plantation clinic, not as a stand-alone walk-in shot. B12 is an essential vitamin for red-blood-cell formation and nerve function, and an injection is the standard treatment when the body cannot absorb enough of it from food or tablets.
Who needs a vitamin B12 injection
- People with a confirmed deficiency on a blood test — the reason for most injections.
- People whose deficiency comes from absorption rather than diet: pernicious anemia, stomach or bowel surgery, Crohn’s or celiac disease, or long-term use of acid-reducing medicines or metformin — where tablets may not be enough.
- People on a vegan or largely vegetarian diet, when a test shows their level is low.
What we do and do not claim
Vitamin B12 injections treat B12 deficiency and the symptoms it causes. UrgentMed does not market them as an energy booster, a metabolism aid or a weight-loss treatment, and the provider will not recommend an injection where there is no clinical reason for one. When a deficiency is found in someone in the medical weight loss program, it is treated as part of that program — the program’s results come from the plan as a whole, not from the vitamin.
What to expect at a vitamin B12 injection visit
- A provider evaluation and, unless a recent result is on file, a B12 level and related laboratory tests drawn on site.
- Injections given in the clinic on a schedule set by the provider — more often at the start of treatment, then at intervals — with the reason documented each time.
- Monitoring of levels and symptoms at follow-up, and a stop or a change when the results say so.

Start with an evaluation
