Erectile dysfunction is common, treatable, and frequently the first visible sign of something else — cardiovascular disease, diabetes, low testosterone, a medication effect, sleep apnea or stress. An ED evaluation at UrgentMed looks for the cause as well as treating the symptom, confidentially, at the Davie and Plantation clinics.
What the erectile dysfunction evaluation covers
- A confidential history: onset, pattern, medications, alcohol and tobacco, sleep, mood and relationship factors.
- Blood pressure, vital signs and a focused examination.
- Laboratory testing on site as the history directs — blood sugar/A1c, lipids, morning testosterone, thyroid and others.
- Screening for cardiovascular risk, because ED and heart disease share the same blood-vessel causes.
Erectile dysfunction treatment and next steps
- Treating what is found: uncontrolled blood pressure, high blood sugar, a contributing medication, or confirmed low testosterone (see the low-T evaluation).
- A conversation about prescription treatment for ED when it is appropriate and safe for you — the provider reviews interactions (nitrates in particular) and cardiovascular fitness before anything is prescribed.
- Referral to urology or cardiology when the evaluation calls for it.
What we do not offer

Start with an evaluation
Programs begin with an in-person evaluation at either clinic. Call to schedule, or walk in and ask for a weight-loss or men’s health consultation — the front desk will set the visit up with the right provider.
