Care at UrgentMed is delivered by Florida-licensed physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners, supported by radiologic technologists, medical assistants and a front-desk team that works with employers and carriers every day. Providers and staff work across both UrgentMed Davie and UrgentMed Plantation, so what you get at one clinic you get at the other.
Who you will see
- Physicians (MD/DO) — lead the practice, supervise the advanced practice providers and the weight-loss and men’s health programs.
- Physician assistants and nurse practitioners — evaluate and treat illness and injury, order and read on-site X-ray and lab, prescribe, suture, splint and inject.
- Radiologic technologists — perform digital X-rays on site at both clinics.
- Medical assistants and front desk — vitals, injections, vaccines, drug and alcohol collections, EKGs, and the paperwork that leaves with you: work notes, DWC-25 forms, school and DOT forms.
Credentials behind specific exams
- DOT physicals are performed by examiners listed on the FMCSA National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners.
- Immigration physicals (I-693) are performed by USCIS-designated civil surgeons at both clinics.
- DOT drug and alcohol testing follows 49 CFR Part 40 collection and breath-alcohol procedures.
- Workers’ compensation visits are documented on the Florida DWC-25 at every encounter, by providers who treat work injuries daily.
What happens at the visit, and who does what
You are roomed by a medical assistant who takes your vitals and history. A provider — physician, PA or nurse practitioner — examines you, orders any imaging or laboratory work, and explains what they find. Imaging is performed by a radiologic technologist here — see X-ray and lab on site — and read during the same visit rather than sent away, which is why most patients leave with a diagnosis and a plan instead of an appointment to come back for one. Anything that needs a signature — a work note, a DWC-25, a school or DOT form — is completed before you go.
If a visit needs more than urgent care can safely give, the provider says so plainly and arranges the referral or the transfer, rather than treating around the edge of it. That judgement is the part of the job that matters most, and it is why every clinical decision here sits with a licensed provider.
Verifying a license yourself
Any Florida-licensed clinician can be looked up by name in the Florida Department of Health licence verification portal at flhealthsource.gov — licence type, status and disciplinary history are public. You are welcome to ask at the front desk who you will be seeing; you should not have to take a website’s word for a credential you can check in a minute.
A named provider profile appears on this page only after the licence is verified with the Florida Department of Health, credentials are confirmed and the provider has given written consent to be listed. That is a deliberately slow gate: a photograph and a first name are easy to publish and tell a patient nothing. Profiles are added as that review completes, and until then this page describes the team rather than inventing individuals.
Continuity between visits and between clinics
Both clinics work from the same records, so a follow-up at UrgentMed Plantation can pick up an injury first seen at UrgentMed Davie without starting over. Ask the front desk if you would prefer to be seen by the provider who treated you last — it can often be arranged around the schedule, though urgent care is walk-in by design and the next available provider is usually the faster route. Records and results are released to you, and to anyone else only with your written authorization — see patient forms to request them.
Physician-supervised programs
Every program at UrgentMed begins with an in-person evaluation and laboratory testing, and treatment is prescribed only when it is clinically appropriate — medical weight loss, men’s hormone health and specialty therapies alike. Pricing is quoted at the front desk, and no therapy is offered on this site until it has cleared clinical and compliance review.
