Urgent care or the emergency room?
Urgent care is for problems that need attention today but are not life-threatening: colds, flu and fever; sore throats, ear and sinus infections; UTIs; rashes; cuts that need stitches; sprains and simple fractures; minor burns; asthma flare-ups in someone who is breathing comfortably. Call 911 or go to the ER for chest pain, trouble breathing, stroke signs, heavy bleeding, a head injury with confusion, or a severe allergic reaction.
