Accessibility statement
Accessibility at UrgentMed — Website & Clinic Access in Davie & Plantation
UrgentMed wants every patient, employer and family member to be able to use this website and both clinics. This page describes the standard the site is built to, what is in place today, how to ask for an accommodation at UrgentMed Davie or UrgentMed Plantation, and how to tell us about a barrier so we can fix it.
Website standard
urgentmed.us is built to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA and is tested with automated tooling and keyboard-only review on every release. The site is a WordPress block theme designed for this purpose, which is what makes the commitments below possible.
What is in place
- A “Skip to content” link at the top of every page, visible when it receives keyboard focus.
- Every interactive control — menus, buttons, check-in links, maps, expandable location cards — is reachable and operable from the keyboard, with a visible focus outline.
- Text and background colors meet WCAG contrast ratios; text can be resized to 200% without loss of content.
- Headings, landmarks and lists are used for structure so screen readers can navigate by heading and region; images carry descriptive alternative text.
- Animations respect the operating-system “reduce motion” setting.
- Clinic maps have a text alternative: address, directions link and phone number are always printed next to the map, and the map region is labelled so it can be skipped.
- Forms label every field and report errors in text, not by color alone.
At the clinics
If you need an accommodation for your visit — help with forms, extra time, a sign-language or spoken-language interpreter, or assistance getting from the parking lot — call the clinic before you arrive so the team can prepare. Phone numbers and directions for both clinics are on the contact page. Telemedicine visits are available when coming in is difficult; online check-in lets you wait at home. Directions, parking and what is on site are on each location page.
Tell us about a barrier
If any part of this website or a clinic is hard to use, email info@urgentmed.us with “Accessibility” in the subject line, or call (800) 275-9630. Tell us the page or location and what happened; we respond as quickly as we can and fix website issues in the next release.
Third-party content
Online check-in, telemedicine and online bill payment open in services run by other companies. We choose partners whose services meet accessibility standards, but cannot control their pages; if one is not working for you, call the clinic and we will complete the same task by phone.
Getting to and into each clinic
Both plazas provide designated accessible parking close to the entrance, and both clinics are on one level. UrgentMed Davie is at 5149 S University Drive in Renaissance Plaza, just off I-595; UrgentMed Plantation is at 10199 Cleary Boulevard, Suite 10, near Nob Hill Road. They are about six miles apart and serve Davie, Plantation, Cooper City, Weston, Sunrise, Southwest Ranches and Pembroke Pines, so if one is easier for you to reach or park at, use it — the same services and the same records are at both. Each location page carries the address as text next to the map, plus a directions link and the clinic’s direct number.
If completing paperwork is difficult, the front desk will complete registration with you rather than handing you a clipboard — see what to bring and how check-in works. How we handle the information you give us is set out in the privacy policy.
