How self-pay works here
- You are told the visit price and the price of any test, X-ray or procedure before it is done — no surprise bill.
- Payment is due at the visit; cash, debit, credit and HSA/FSA cards are accepted, and you can pay a balance online.
- You receive an itemized receipt with diagnosis and procedure codes for reimbursement from a health-sharing plan, travel insurer or out-of-network benefit.
- Physicals, drug tests and other administrative visits are always quoted as flat self-pay prices.

- Physicals — school, sports, DOT, pre-employment, immigration and licensing exams.
- Drug and alcohol testing for personal or employer requirements.

What the visit price includes
The visit price covers the provider evaluation and treatment plan. Tests, X-rays, injections, stitches and other procedures each have their own flat price, quoted before they are done, so you can decide what you want. Prescriptions are sent to your pharmacy; the clinic also dispenses some medications for self-pay at the visit.
When self-pay is the better option
- A high-deductible plan where a self-pay visit costs less than the bill your deductible would leave you.
- Services your plan does not cover — school, sports and DOT physicals, immigration exams, drug tests, occupational vaccines.
- A plan that is out-of-network here, when the self-pay price is below the out-of-network share.

Visitors and travelers
Travel insurance — Allianz, Global Excel, Tourmed and Canadian and international plans — is usually pay-and-claim: you pay at the visit and submit our itemized receipt. Out-of-state Blue Cross members are billed through BlueCard instead.
