Both UrgentMed clinics have digital X-ray and a laboratory on site, so the test that answers your question is usually done during the same walk-in visit — not scheduled at another facility on another day. Images and results are reviewed by the provider while you are here.
Digital X-ray on site, seven days a week
X-ray is available at both Davie and Plantation without an appointment or a referral. It is most often used for injuries and chest symptoms, and the provider explains what the image shows during your visit. If something needs a radiologist’s formal read or a further study, you are told that before you leave.
- Suspected broken bones, twisted ankles and wrists, finger and toe injuries — see sprains, fractures and splinting.
- Chest X-ray for a persistent cough, chest congestion or suspected pneumonia.
- Injuries after a fall, sports injury, work injury or car accident.
- Swallowed or embedded foreign bodies where an image helps locate them.
The on-site laboratory
Common tests run in the clinic with results during the visit; others are sent to a reference laboratory and reviewed when they return. The specific test you need has its own page:
- Blood work and lab panels — CBC, metabolic panels, lipids, thyroid and more.
- Rapid strep, flu, COVID-19, RSV and mono testing.
- Urinalysis for UTI, pregnancy (hCG) and STD testing.
- TB skin and blood tests for school, work and immigration.
Heart and lung testing on site
A 12-lead EKG is performed and read on site for symptoms, physicals and pre-operative clearance, and spirometry is available for lung-function questions and OSHA respirator clearance.

- The provider decides which test answers the question, and explains why.
- X-ray images and in-clinic results are reviewed with you before you leave.
- Send-out results are reviewed by a provider and you are contacted with anything that needs action.
- Copies of images and results can be sent to your primary care physician or specialist on request.
When to go to the emergency room instead
- Chest pain, pressure or difficulty breathing.
- An obvious deformity, a bone through the skin, or a limb that is cold, numb or blue.
- A head injury with loss of consciousness, repeated vomiting or confusion.

Both clinics are open seven days a week — Davie on S University Drive and Plantation on Cleary Boulevard — serving Davie, Plantation, Cooper City, Weston, Sunrise, Southwest Ranches and the surrounding Broward County communities.
Insurance and self-pay
We accept most major insurance plans, workers’ compensation and auto (PIP) claims, and offer self-pay pricing quoted at the front desk before you are seen. Bring a photo ID and your insurance card.
