When your child is sick or hurt and the pediatrician’s office is closed, both UrgentMed clinics see children on a walk-in basis seven days a week. On-site X-ray and rapid testing mean most families are evaluated and on their way home the same visit, with a record sent to your pediatrician.

What we commonly see in children
- Fever, cough, congestion and sore throat
- Rapid strep, flu, COVID-19 and RSV testing
- Ear pain and ear infections
- Cuts needing cleaning, glue or stitches
- Sprains, minor fractures and sports injuries, with X-ray on site
- Rashes, insect bites and allergic reactions
- Vomiting, diarrhea and dehydration concerns
- School, camp and sports physicals
When to go to the emergency room instead
- Difficulty breathing, or lips or face turning blue
- An infant under two months with a fever
- Seizure, unresponsiveness or a serious head injury
- Severe or uncontrolled bleeding
- A serious allergic reaction with swelling of the face or throat
- Any concern that your child is seriously unwell — call 911
What to expect at your visit
- Check in online before you leave home so your child waits at home rather than in a waiting room.
- Bring the details. Your child’s medications, allergies, immunization record if handy, and the name of your pediatrician.
- Evaluation by a licensed provider, with rapid testing or X-ray on site when it is needed.
- A clear plan home — what to watch for, when to follow up, and a visit record you can share with your pediatrician.
Walk in at either Broward clinic
Both UrgentMed clinics are open seven days a week — Davie on S University Drive and Plantation on Cleary Boulevard — with on-site X-ray and lab, so most visits are evaluated and treated the same day. We see patients from across Broward County, including Davie, Plantation, Cooper City, Weston, Sunrise, Southwest Ranches and Fort Lauderdale.
Insurance, workers’ comp and self-pay
We accept most major insurance plans, workers’ compensation and auto (PIP) claims, and offer self-pay pricing. Bring your photo ID and insurance card; if the visit is work-related, bring your employer’s authorization. Ask the front desk about self-pay pricing before your visit — we will tell you what a visit costs before you are seen.
