How AmeriSys workers’ comp claims work at UrgentMed

AmeriSys is a Florida workers’ compensation managed-care organization that coordinates injured-worker care and provider networks for carriers and self-insured employers, including many public-sector programs.

AmeriSys manages the medical side of the claim — provider authorization, case management and the treatment plan — for the employer’s workers’ compensation carrier. Authorization requests and the DWC-25 go to AmeriSys; the indemnity side stays with the carrier.

Walk in any day and tell the front desk it is a work injury. We contact your employer or the AmeriSys adjuster for authorization while you are being seen, treat the injury at that visit with X-ray and lab on site, and send the DWC-25 and your work-status note to AmeriSys and your employer the same day. Authorized care is billed to AmeriSys — not to you.

Frequently asked questions

Does UrgentMed treat AmeriSys workers’ compensation claims?

Yes. Employees whose claims are handled by AmeriSys are seen at both clinics, and authorized care is billed to AmeriSys — you do not pay for authorized treatment.

Does UrgentMed take AmeriSys managed care?

Yes — AmeriSys managed care is one of the AmeriSys products we see at both clinics. Bring the card and a photo ID; benefits are verified at check-in and anything not covered is quoted before it is done.

Do I need authorization before I come in?

Come in as soon as you can and tell the front desk it is a work injury; we contact your employer or the adjuster for authorization while you are being seen. Employers with a standing account are pre-authorized.

What does UrgentMed send to AmeriSys?

A completed DWC-25 after every visit — diagnosis, treatment plan and work status — plus records, referral requests and authorization requests, sent the same day to the adjuster and employer contact on file.

Will I get a work-status note?

Yes, at every visit: full duty, modified duty with specific restrictions, or off work with a re-evaluation date.

If you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency — chest pain, difficulty breathing, severe bleeding, stroke symptoms — call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
