How AmTrust workers’ comp claims work at UrgentMed

AmTrust Financial is a leading small-business workers’ compensation carrier, especially for restaurants, retail and service employers.

AmTrust writes the workers’ compensation policy itself, so the adjuster, the authorization and the DWC-25 all sit with AmTrust. If your employer uses a third-party administrator for AmTrust claims, tell the front desk the administrator’s name as well.

Walk in any day and tell the front desk it is a work injury. We contact your employer or the AmTrust adjuster for authorization while you are being seen, treat the injury at that visit with X-ray and lab on site, and send the DWC-25 and your work-status note to AmTrust and your employer the same day. Authorized care is billed to AmTrust — not to you.

Frequently asked questions

Does UrgentMed treat AmTrust workers’ compensation claims?

Yes. Employees whose claims are handled by AmTrust are seen at both clinics, and authorized care is billed to AmTrust — you do not pay for authorized treatment.

Does UrgentMed take AmTrust workers’ compensation?

Yes — AmTrust workers’ compensation is one of the AmTrust products we see at both clinics. Bring the card and a photo ID; benefits are verified at check-in and anything not covered is quoted before it is done.

Does AmTrust pay the clinic directly?

Yes. AmTrust writes the policy, so authorized treatment is billed to AmTrust and not to you. If your employer uses an administrator for AmTrust claims, tell the front desk that name too.

Do I need authorization before I come in?

Come in as soon as you can and tell the front desk it is a work injury; we contact your employer or the adjuster for authorization while you are being seen. Employers with a standing account are pre-authorized.

What does UrgentMed send to AmTrust?

A completed DWC-25 after every visit — diagnosis, treatment plan and work status — plus records, referral requests and authorization requests, sent the same day to the adjuster and employer contact on file.

If you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency — chest pain, difficulty breathing, severe bleeding, stroke symptoms — call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
