Travelers Workers’ Comp Claims: Same-Day Injury Care in Davie & Plantation

Travelers workers’ compensation claims are treated at UrgentMed at both clinics — Davie and Plantation — seven days a week, no appointment needed. Authorized care is billed to Travelers, not to you — with the DWC-25 report completed at every visit and sent to the adjuster the same day.

How care works when Travelers handles the claim

Travelers is one of the largest workers’ compensation carriers in the United States and also a major auto insurer, so UrgentMed sees Travelers both for workplace injuries and for PIP claims after car accidents.

  1. Report the injury to your employer and come in — walk-ins are seen the same day, seven days a week. Bring your employer’s name and, if you have it, the claim number.
  2. Authorization. We contact your employer or the Travelers adjuster to confirm authorization while you are being seen. Employers with a standing account are pre-authorized.
  3. Evaluation and treatment at the visit — provider exam, X-ray, lab and EKG on site, wound care and splinting
  4. Reporting. The DWC-25 (Florida’s treatment and work-status form) is completed at every visit and sent to Travelers and your employer the same day, with a work-status note for you.
  5. Follow-up through MMI. Medications and braces are dispensed in the clinic under the claim, follow-ups are scheduled here, and a return-to-work evaluation clears you when you are ready.

Names you may see on the claim

  • Travelers workers’ compensation
  • Travelers auto (PIP claims)

Injuries we treat under Travelers claims

  • Sprains, strains and fractures of the back, shoulder, knee, wrist, ankle, hand and foot — X-rayed and splinted at the visit.
  • Cuts, lacerations and puncture wounds, crush injuries to fingers and hands, wound care and dressing changes.
  • Slips, trips and falls; lifting, overexertion and repetitive-motion injuries; minor burns and chemical exposures to the skin; eye injuries and foreign bodies.
  • Post-accident drug and alcohol testing at the same visit when the employer’s policy requires it, with chain-of-custody collection.

What happens after the first visit

Follow-up visits are scheduled here, not at another facility. At each one the provider updates the work-status note and DWC-25, adjusts restrictions as you improve, and dispenses medication or supplies under the claim. If imaging beyond X-ray or a specialist is needed, the referral request goes to the Travelers adjuster with the records attached; referrals stay within the carrier’s preferred network when we are told who is in it. When you reach maximum medical improvement the final DWC-25 records it and, if needed, an impairment referral is arranged.

For the Travelers claims team

Send authorizations, records requests and referral approvals to the clinic treating the employee; the DWC-25 goes out the same day by fax or secure e-mail to the contact on file. Our adjuster and case-manager page explains reporting, work status and how to reach the clinic.

Employers

Employers whose coverage is through Travelers can set up a standing account so injured employees are seen without a call for every visit, with reports delivered to a designated contact. The same account covers DOT physicals, drug testing and pre-employment physicals.

Travelers auto policies after a crash

Travelers also insures drivers in Florida, so the same clinics treat Travelers policyholders after a crash and bill personal injury protection directly — see the car accident care page for what the visit involves.

Travelers is one of the largest workers’ compensation carriers in the United States and also a major auto insurer, so UrgentMed sees Travelers both for workplace injuries and for PIP claims after car accidents.

  1. Come in within 14 days of the crash. Florida’s no-fault law requires initial care within 14 days for PIP benefits to apply; walk in any day, or check in online.
  2. Bring your auto policy or claim number, the date of the accident and a photo ID. Passengers bring the policy of the vehicle they were in, or their own.
  3. Evaluation with imaging on site. Provider exam, digital X-ray for neck, back and extremity injuries, and treatment for sprains, cuts and concussion symptoms.
  4. Emergency medical condition (EMC) determination documented when appropriate — it decides whether the $10,000 or the $2,500 PIP medical limit applies to your claim.
  5. Billing. We bill Travelers PIP directly — PIP pays 80% of reasonable medical expenses up to the policy limit after your deductible; MedPay, if you carry it, can cover the balance. Records go to your carrier, and to your attorney if you have one, on request.

Injuries we evaluate after a crash

  • Neck and back pain, whiplash and muscle strain — examined and X-rayed the same day, with a referral for MRI when the exam calls for it.
  • Sprains, fractures and contusions of the wrist, knee, shoulder and ribs from bracing or the seat belt.
  • Cuts from glass and airbags, abrasions and minor burns.
  • Headache, dizziness and concussion symptoms after a head strike, with written return-to-activity guidance.
  • Symptoms that appear a day or two later — stiffness, numbness, headaches — which is why being seen inside the 14 days matters even if you felt fine at the scene.

Documentation for your claim

Every visit produces a dated record of the injury, the examination, imaging results, the diagnosis and the treatment plan — the documentation a PIP claim, a bodily-injury claim against the at-fault driver, or an attorney needs. Records are released to you, your carrier or your attorney with a signed authorization.

Yes. Employees whose claims are handled by Travelers are seen at both clinics, and authorized care is billed to Travelers — you do not pay for authorized treatment.

Come in as soon as you can and tell the front desk it is a work injury; we contact your employer or the adjuster for authorization while you are being seen. Employers with a standing account are pre-authorized.

What does UrgentMed send to Travelers?

A completed DWC-25 after every visit — diagnosis, treatment plan and work status — plus records, referral requests and authorization requests, sent the same day to the adjuster and employer contact on file.

Will I get a work-status note?

Yes, at every visit: full duty, modified duty with specific restrictions, or off work with a re-evaluation date.
